Coming back to the office after time off can be challenging, especially when work has piled up in your absence. Use these strategies to get right back into productive habits:

Set the stage before you leave. Be sure that the key people know when you will be away and when they can expect you to be available for ongoing or new projects after your return. Do your best to clear your desk and complete essential tasks before leaving.

Plan your return. Make a list of priorities you will have to focus on when you come back so you can get right back on track. Try to clear your schedule on your first morning back in the office. Make sure to meet with your boss shortly after getting back to catch up on anything you may have missed.

Slide back into the office routine. Do this as smoothly as possible. Save all reports of your vacation for break time.
