Take online collaboration to the next level with these tips:

Schedule video meetings. If your employees are dispersed across the country or globe, this offers you an opportunity for some face-time, which helps to build trust and respect among teammates.

Send direct messages to teammates. A quick message to check in, ask people how they are doing or offer a bit of praise goes a long way to building the relationship.

Share resources. Share articles, videos and other resources with the team as you come across them. Encourage the rest of the team to do the same thing.

Elicit feedback. Ask employees to comment on shared documents. Also, pose a problem or challenge in a group chat, and ask them to publicly weigh in and discuss ideas for overcoming the issue. Online brainstorming brings the group together.
