In news that may spell trouble in 2018 for Minnesota employers, it appears that the state’s unemployment rate is steadily declining to lows not seen in decades.

For example, in the fall, the national unemployment rate lingered at around 4.1%. Meanwhile, Minnesota’s rate was just 3.3%, the lowest level in 17 years.

Over the past 12 months, Minnesota has gained 41,372 jobs, a 1.4% percent growth rate that matched the U.S. rate of job growth during the same period.
