Federal contract workers get a 15¢ raise in 2018

Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, the minimum wage for nonexempts who work on or in connection with new federal contracts or replacements for expiring contracts, including employees with disabilities who work under special certificates, increases 15¢, to $10.35 an hour. The minimum wage for tipped employees increases 45¢, to $7.25 an hour. If a state or local minimum wage is higher than those rates, then it applies. (82 F.R. 43408, 9-15-17)
