5 fabulous Google Chrome extensions

The right Google Chrome extensions can make you wonder how you ever coped with work before them. Here are five recommendations for extensions that can make your work life a little easier.

Grammarly. Good grammar is a must when you’re dealing with company communications. Grammarly will check your email, social media and documents for language errors. “It sees properly spelled words used in the wrong context and checks your spelling as well as grammatical correctness,” says Lionel Valdellon, content marketing team lead for Wrike.

OneTab. This extension helps if your computer—and your attention—are being taxed because you always have several tabs open. The tool converts your tabs into a list that you can access one at a time or all at once, freeing up memory and focusing your attention on a specific task. “OneTab gives you the option to focus on only one tab at a time,” Valdellon says. “All other tabs are suspended and can be easily released once your focus session is over.”

Boomerang. This tool lets you track emails, schedule responses and “pause” your inbox. “Boomerang is a lifesaver,” says Danielle Isbell, marketing coordinator for Odd Dog Media. “It helps us stay on top of communications and to make sure that clients are followed up with when they go MIA.”

Open Compose Window for Gmail. If you hate opening your Gmail inbox every time you have to send a quick email, this extension is for you—it lets you open a fresh email without going to Gmail itself. “Leaving your inbox open is an invitation for frequent interruptions and distractions,” Isbell says.

Assistant.to. Using email to schedule meetings usually means a lot of back-and-forth to find a good time, and a lot of calendar checking. Assistant.to integrates your calendar and gives options for free times so you can schedule a meeting with one email.
