As part of President Trump’s “extreme vetting” directives, potential legal immigrant workers will now be required to undergo in-person interviews with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The requirement will apply to those moving from employment-based visas to lawful permanent residency. Decades ago, the USCIS began waiving in-person interviews for employment-based cases to avoid duplicating efforts. USCIS will not grant such waivers any longer.
