As long as they sit and stay, they’re welcome at work
Pet food maker Purina has launched a campaign to encourage employers in Europe to welcome employees’ dogs into the workplace. To advance its “Pets at Work Alliance,” Purina this summer surveyed more than 3,000 European dog owners. Among the findings:
- 68% of employed dog owners would bring their pet to work if given the choice (currently only 12% of European workplaces are pet friendly)
- 40% of employees agree that pets in the workplace reduce stress and create a more relaxed work atmosphere
- 36% said pets at work help to improve work/life balance.
A recent Society for Human Resource Management survey found that 7% of U.S. employers let employees bring their pets to work.
