Looking to add to your team? Scott Wintrip, author of High Velocity Hiring: How to Hire Top Talent in an Instant, offers these tips:

Know exactly what you’re looking for. Take some time to think about the skills, qualifications and personality traits required to fit your team and organization before you start your recruiting efforts.

Ask your network—even the not-so-obvious people. You may think to reach out to employees and colleagues or others for referrals, but Wintrip also recommends asking family and friends.

Share candidates with your network. Sometimes you will come across exceptional candidates that just aren’t the right fit. Introduce those people to others within your network if it makes sense to do so. Those people will likely reciprocate.
