If you want people to truly hear what you have to say, stop these self-defeating habits:

Talking just to hear yourself talk. If you babble on without offering anything of substance, people will tune you out. Try to add value to the conversation.

Sharing too much at once. People will lose focus if you ramble. Instead, talk in short bursts, and then pause to let people absorb and respond.

Offering too much of a backstory. Most people get lost in the details. Figure out exactly what your listeners need to know, and share only those details.

Failing to tell people what you are talking about. Don’t make people figure it out as you speak. Tell them why you are sharing the message with them.
