New regulations designed to reduce workplace violence in California health care facilities took effect April 1. The regulations require 17 different types of health care facilities to develop workplace violence prevention plans to combat four different types of workplace violence that the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) identified.

The regulations cover in great detail what health care workplace violence prevention plans must cover. Learn more at www.dir.ca.gov/OSHSB/Workplace-Violence-Prevention-in-Health-Care.html.
