Two for two: I was tax scammed again

Well, it happened again.

A truly human-less voice phoned my landline yesterday and told me that this was my last chance to get square with the IRS. Last year, they called my cell phone. I didn’t even get to the end of the robocall.

What’s apparent now is that these calls are going to come like clockwork every March. So jot it down and remember to prepare your employees next February.

Surprise, I owe taxes!

Whether I have outstanding tax issues with the IRS isn’t relevant. I know, from reading about tax policy day after day, that the IRS does not phone individual taxpayers, or even business taxpayers, about outstanding tax bills.

Yet, for all the outreach the IRS undertakes, the robocallers still call and people still call those robocallers back.
