‘2-for-1’ regulatory plan aims to free up businesses

Lost in President Trump’s first month blitz of executive orders was an order signed Jan. 30 that directs federal agencies to eliminate two regulations for every one new regulation issued in the current fiscal year. The goal: alleviate the regulatory burden on employers of all sizes. Military and national security regulations are exempt. The order also calls for the total cost of new regulations finalized this year to be “no greater than zero.”
