The controversial changes to U.S. overtime law—on hold since a Texas court’s Nov. 22 preliminary injunction—are still frozen in the courts. It’s possible, but unlikely, the OT changes could be revived in the courts. The new rules are expected to quietly be put out to pasture by Trump’s Department of Labor, which is expected to offer its own, more modest, rewrite of the overtime rules this year or next.
