Q. How can I attach a file from SharePoint in Outlook?

A. Unless you’re sending a file to someone who doesn’t have access to your SharePoint environment, all you need to do is send a link. If you’re sending inside the organization, simply copy the hyperlink from the SharePoint library for that document and paste it in the email (or click the Share button in SharePoint 2013). You can also “sync” the library, so you have a local copy that you can attach like any other computer file.

If neither option is viable, download a copy to a temporary location, like the Downloads folder, and attach it to the email. Be sure you aren’t circumventing any controls designed to prevent sharing. Always opt for a sharing link when possible to reduce the email glut caused by too many file attachments.
