Employees are starting to catch on: If you want more money, you may have to change jobs. In a poll conducted by the job search and career counseling site Glassdoor.com, 49% of U.S. workers said they believe they would have to go work somewhere else in order to “obtain any meaningful change in compensation.”

That stat dovetails with the findings of an April survey by the Society for Human Resource Management that found the desire for better pay is now the leading reason employees change jobs. Of employees who said they will look for a new position this year, 62% said they were most motivated by the possibility of making more money.
