Start every workday like this:

1. Reflect, pause and get comfortable.

2. Organize, prioritize and map out your day.

3. Visualize success but expect distractions.

4. Reject negativity, but say no to anything that will take you off track, offering to engage later.

5. Greet your team and “read” their mood. Then help them; a service approach to leadership reduces stress and gives everyone a leg up, which increases job satisfaction.

6. Smile and laugh. Be grateful.

I like the suggestion to visualize success. Having a positive attitude about your work day will help you handle the situations that come. I also like how you said to have a service approach to leadership. The greatest bit of advice I learned from a past job is to never treat your team like they have to do everything you say. Be reasonable and don’t ask a job to be done if you yourself wouldn’t be willing to do that job.
