Sometimes, it’s difficult to be engaged if you and your boss don’t agree. Here are four tips that can help you see eye to eye:

1.  Be a valuable employee. By being positive about your job, you can have a definite influence on management’s behavior. If you’re good at your job, they won’t have to worry.

2.  Use complementary skill sets to your advantage. Different personalities don’t always have to clash; they can even help each other out.

3.  Don’t be too sensitive. Remind yourself that if your boss has a Type A personality, he or she is likely to speak first and think about it later.

4.  Think about the boss’s positive qualities. While your boss might not be the best at times, it’s important to think about all of the great qualities he has and how that helps the company.
