Shred your boarding passes to avoid having your information fall into the wrong hands. You may want to think twice before tossing your boarding pass, says IT security expert Brian Krebs. QR codes may make it easier for hackers to find out information about you, including your flight times, passcodes and future flight arrangements.  

Nervous before a speech? Don’t approach it thinking, “What will the audience think of me?” Fill your pre-speech thoughts with, “How can I help them?”

Feel happier at work by taking a lunch break. A recent study by The Energy Project and Har­­vard Busi­­­ness Review found that em­­­ployees who eat lunch away from their desk are 40% happier with their work life. By leaving the office and interacting with your co-workers, you can boost your creativity and engagement.

Being on time makes you more productive. Employees who get to work on time are usually more productive in their day, says Rich­­ard Branson, founder of Virgin Group. Being on time gets you an early start to your day, and you’re likely to be more motivated. You can start adjusting to the early lifestyle by turning the clock back a few minutes each morning. 

Late for a meeting? Enter with the least amount of disruption. Never interrupt the speaker to apologize for your lateness; wait until there is a pause between topics to make your apologies.

Quit worrying about short emails from your boss. People change their email etiquette based on whom they are addressing, says Eric Gilbert, an assistant professor at Georgia Institute of Tech­­nology’s School of Inter­ac­tive Computing, who analyzed emails between workers. Gilbert found that curt emails from bosses to employees were typical, as were spelling errors.
