Q. When I add a cover page and mark my page numbering “different first page” the first page still stays Page 2. Any suggestions?

A. If you don’t want to mess around with sections, click on the Page Number button and choose Format Page numbers from the dropdown. Change the first page to 0. This should make that next page 1. If you decide to add a section, then remove the “Different First Page” checkmark.
