Fitting the right people into the right jobs makes a huge impact on productivity and morale. Yet some studies indicate that up to 70% of workers are “misemployed,” working in positions for which they aren’t the best-suited employees.
Improve the fit of your workers with these steps:
- Define the work. Write thorough job descriptions that define what people must be able to do to succeed in those jobs.
- Check personalities. Use personality assessments to determine if people are good matches for the jobs and the organization.
- Ask behavioral questions. Discover how job candidates handle situations common to the positions.
