When you disagree with your boss on an issue, always focus your concerns on how it relates to the business. Instead of adding your own personal judgment and opinions, talk about the adverse effects the idea or decision could have on the organization—and, more specifically, on the bottom line.

Example: “Instead of “I worry that this could anger the customers,” say: “Fifty percent of our customers pay for the service. If we eliminate it, we’ll lose nearly $100,000 in revenue automatically, and the cost could rise if customers defect because we no longer offer the service.”
