Every business needs repeat business to remain competitive, so don’t put all your efforts into attracting new customers. Make sure you are giving lots of love to your existing customers too. Follow these tips:

  • Hire and train well. The customer experience begins and ends with your employees. Ensure that you’re setting standards for the type of people you hire, and then train new hires to exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Show your appreciation. Customers want to believe that you value their business. Start by offering them a genuine “thank you,” and if possible, offer rewards or incentives for referring your business or being repeat customers.
  • Become an expert in your industry. It is hard to compete with big businesses when it comes to price and selection. However, you can make up for it by positioning yourself and your employees as leaders of product knowledge whom customers can trust to offer better support.
