During a commencement speech he gave at MIT, Drew Houston shared two points of advice he would give to his younger self.

The Dropbox CEO says the first one, a tennis ball, reminds him to work only on things he’s as obsessed with as a dog with a fuzzy ball.

The other, the number 30,000, is the average number of days in a person’s life.

“Every day you’re tearing off a page of the calendar,” he says. “I went to my calculator. I was 24. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m like 8,000 or 9,000 down. It’s not like 1,000. I’m almost one-third through my life.’ ”
