But whatever the cause, a disaster or pandemic can have a serious impact on a company, its operations, and the work and ­personal lives of its employees. That’s why developing a response plan is critical.

Because there are so many variables and unknowns, it is nearly impossible for employers to develop a specific, step-by-step disaster/pandemic response plan. However, having even a basic response plan in place will help if and when disaster or a pandemic strikes.
