Printing to OneNote

Q. I love the idea of printing to OneNote, but I don’t have it among my printer options. What do I have to do?

A. Using the information above, navigate to the Control Panel and try repairing the installation of OneNote. After a restart of your computer, you should see OneNote available as a printer. If this doesn’t do it, check this link to resolve issues with older operating systems or OneNote versions.

Another solution is to select the File Printout button from the Insert tab in OneNote. This will insert an attachment to the original file and searchable print image right into your selected OneNote page. You should be able to print anything from Word documents to PDFs into OneNote this way.

If all else fails, you can insert a Screen Clipping. This is also found on the Insert tab (2010 and later), in the Images group. It is not, however, text searchable.
