Quit trying to impress

A good rule of thumb is that you are least impressive when you are trying hardest to impress. Rather than talking about strategy, positioning and marketing, think about what you’d say if you were sitting across the table from your best friend. You’d be a lot more comfortable and less nervous, right?

You’d ask how they’re doing and you’d really care to know. You’d drop the business speak. You’d be clear. And you’d help solve problems.
