Maybe a lavish Halloween party isn’t right for your workplace. But that doesn’t mean you should let the ghoulish day slide by without a little morale-boosting fun. Here are a few ideas:

•  Pumpkin decorating contest. In advance, select teams of three or four employees and provide each with a similar-size pumpkin. Using colored markers, wigs, hats, etc., each team puts its creativity and collaborative powers to work. Designate a neutral judge to determine first, second and third places.
•  Guess how many candy corns. Fill a large jar with pre-counted candy corns, plastic spiders or rubber bats. Let employees submit their guesses throughout the day. Offer a small prize.
•  Witch cauldron toss. Set up a plastic witch cauldron (or plastic jack-o’-lantern). Each employee gets a set amount of wrapped candy to toss into the bucket. Whoever gets the most in, wins the cauldron of candy.
