The mission of Mindbody Inc., in San Luis Obispo, Calif., is to leverage technology “to improve the health and wellness of the world,” says Marketing Director Meg McCall. That’s why execs of the software company encourage the organization’s 175 employees to stay fit.

The firm gives every employee a $50 voucher each month to spend on gym memberships or other fitness-related activities, such as on-site massages and facials provided by the company’s clients in the health, wellness and beauty industries.

“It is quite an expense for the company, but it’s a preventative measure,” says McCall.

Employees can also attend free, on-site Pilates, yoga or circuit training classes a few days a week. Mindbody allows employees to extend their lunch breaks so they have time to exercise, shower and eat. They make up the time later.
