As the leader, you need to take your team through uncertain situations by absorbing uncertainty for them.

People facing an uncertain future go into “frozen in the headlights” mode: Nothing happens while they wait for more information.

Leaders paralyze their organization when they let their own fear over an unpredictable future dominate their communications.

Your role is to pull people out of the quicksand by saying, “Assume this is where we’re going.” You may be wrong, or you may need to change course later. But set a specific goal now so that operations, marketing, customer service, etc., can figure out what they need to do to meet the goal. Then move ahead confidently.
