Lisa Price’s homemade body products have made it into the homes of celebrities such as Halle Berry and Chaka Khan, and each of them carries the brand name “Carol’s Daughter.”

Why? Because that’s who Price decided she is: the daughter of a mother, Carol Hutson, who had stepped in with child care when Price started the business and helped hire staff later on. Even more valuable, though, Hutson served as Price’s mentor, and Price wanted to honor her for that.

Lesson: Have you honored your mentor lately?
