The critical goals you set at age 20—and 30—may no longer apply. Yet, many of us still carry around goals we set years ago.

To refresh your goals:
  1. List your biggest current goal in each of these categories:

    • Personal
    • Family
    • Social
    • Career
    • Financial
    • Community
    • Spiritual

Spend no more than two minutes on each category.

  2. Invest another two minutes making adjustments in each category.

  3. Return to them after two days and decide which deserve to be promoted to your new life list.
Also, look across categories to discover macro trends. If you’re starting a new career and eager to help your community, too, can you combine those goals into a more powerful one?
