Figure out your “center” as a leader, by answering these questions:
  1. “Who influences me, for good or bad?” “What have I learned from them about leading?”

  2. “What’s my life’s purpose?” “Why am I here and what do I want to accomplish?”

  3. “What core values will guide me as I try living ‘on purpose’?”

  4. “Given my influences, purpose and values, what do I believe about leading people?”

  5. “What can my people expect from me? Can they trust me?”

  6. “What can I expect from them?”

  7. “How will I set a good example?”
—Adapted from Leading at a Higher Level, Ken Blanchard, Pearson/Prentice Hall.
