Sure, electronic greeting cards can be clever, cool and funny. But they don’t seem as personal or as meaningful as a card sent by snail mail.

Two web sites can help you send a card with a personal touch, without a last-minute dash to the drugstore:

1. Jack Cards (www.jackcards.com) will ship your cards one, two or four weeks before the event. Cards arrive stamped and addressed, so all you need to add is your message and signature, then mail.

Cards range from $1.50 to $6, plus the cost of a stamp.

2. Hallmark.com also sells paper cards and can remind you of upcoming events. They don’t arrive pre-stamped or pre-addressed, as they do with Jack Cards. Shipping also costs a bit more. Hallmark.com will ship a card for $2.95 (arriving in five business days), while Jack Cards ships for 99 cents (for two- to three-day shipping).
