Roughly 56% of U.S. companies conduct employee surveys, but nearly half fail to act on their employees’ suggestions, according to a survey by the Opinion Research Corporation.

The survey indicated a strong correlation between responsive action to employee suggestions and positive employee perception. In companies that acted on employee suggestions, 84% of employees felt the changes positively affected them personally.

Southern employers were most likely to conduct employee surveys. Employers in the Midwest were least likely to act on survey results.
