Employees of Indianapolis-based trucking company Celadon Group have lost nearly 1,000 pounds through the company’s Highway 2 Health wellness initiative. More than 70 employees participated, completing a 12-week on-site Weight Watchers course.
Employees at the company’s headquarters divided into two teams, each competing for the most weight loss. The losing team served a nutritionally balanced lunch to the winners.
Celadon introduced Highway 2 Health last August to lower health care costs. The program includes health screenings, plus an on-site medical team to provide education and follow-up care.
Final tip: Check with your health insurer to see if it offers incentives for healthy living. Then work with it to create your own health-awareness program at your company.
