A Columbus inspection-repair worker lost his ADA lawsuit against Honda because his disability left him unsuited to work in the plant.
The man fell from a fence onto pavement while working at home, sustaining severe head injuries. After rehabilitation, he tried to return to work at the Honda plant despite serious ongoing memory, manual dexterity and balance problems.
A judge ruled that Honda had worked in good faith to keep him, but the man was unfit for any position, even with accommodations. The judge commended the man, however, for his desire to return to work.
