Eleven Cincinnati auto dealerships owned by Jeff Wyler will pay $2.3 million to a class of 39 women for refusing to hire them because of their gender.

The EEOC consent decree also calls for the dealerships to extend job offers to members of the class, train managers in anti-discrimination practices and hold those managers accountable for ensuring equal employment opportunities at their dealerships.

“It is disturbing that women still face the barriers and stereotypes they faced 40 years ago,” EEOC regional attorney Jacqueline McNair said. “We are pleased that the parties in this case reached an amicable resolution.”
