Thirty-two percent of people surveyed by Harris Interactive said "people talking loudly at work" is one of their biggest pet peeves. Employees who talk loudly on the phone and in person can hurt productivity and morale, plus create tension among employees.

Advice: Send out an e-mail reminding employees about your noise policy (if you have one) and the need to respect co-workers' work space. Most people probably aren't even aware that they're causing the disruption.
