Workplaces are increasingly being disrupted by the ringing of personal cell phones and employees engaged in high-volume wireless talking ("cell yell"). As a result, more employers are establishing policies on when and where employees can chat on their cell phones (or take pictures with camera phones). Another telecom trend: Some employers are dumping their land-line phones in favor of cells. Example: More than 8,000 engineers at Ford Motor Co. dumped their desk phones this year and went cell-only.
