If you're a "hyperhelper" or "give-aholic," ask yourself these questions, suggested by a psychologist, when someone asks you to do something:
1. "Do I truly want to do this?"
2. "What will saying 'Yes' do for me?"
3. "How will I feel if I do say 'Yes'?"
You may need to firmly tell the boss or a co-worker, "I can't be the kind of employee/co-worker that I want to be if I continue giving too much."
