Two former salespeople are suing Greenshield Financial Services, claiming the company is racially biased and failed to properly pay them for overtime hours.

Sean Bolden and Larry Burden, who are both black, argue they were successful at their jobs and exceeded their sales quotas. The workers allege they were among the 10 best-performing consultants at Greenshield, a debt consolidation firm based in Allen. They claim the company fired them anyway without giving them a reason.

Bolden and Burden filed their suit in the Eastern District of Texas. Their suit accuses Greenshield of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act by not paying them overtime compensation and terminating them because of their race.

They also accuse Greenshield of breaching its contractual obligations to pay them for time spent in training and for all of their earned commissions.

The lawsuit seeks an award of unpaid compensation, including unpaid overtime, back and front pay, liquidated damages, consequential damages, actual damages, punitive damages, attorneys’ fees and court costs.
