Looking at a list of where the past 25 Americans to win the Nobel Prize in medicine earned their undergraduate degrees, you’d expect to see Harvard, MIT and Stanford.

You wouldn’t expect to see Gettysburg College.

But, small, low-profile schools such as Gettysburg, DePauw University and Antioch College appear on the list in numbers comparable to the big-name schools: those assumed to be attracting the best and brightest students in the world.

What does that mean for you?

It means that, when checking the credentials of people you’re considering for your team, don’t be blinded by glitz. You’ll find plenty of gems outside the glitterati.
