Dear Jo....

Having been the victim of a workplace bully in one of my previous jobs, my heart goes out to you and anyone else who may be experiencing this kind of situation.

I don't know if there are any US laws on the books yet, but the United Kingdom has laws to protect victims of workplace bullying and they take it very seriously.

Here is a website that I found very helpful (and helped to keep me sane, along with lots of support from my friends and coworkers.)

By the way, after three years of being bullied unmercifully, having each and every day being made a living hell, and HR being aware of the situation and doing nothing to help, I terminated my employment with that company. I now work for a company and managers who appreciate me. Wish I had left sooner.

One very important thing to remember -- it's not you. Please don't let this individual damage your self-esteem.
