Question: "What's your favorite 'cool tool' or gadget that makes work easier?"  -- Amy Beth Miller, Editor, Personal Report for the Administrative Professional

I LOVE my Seiko Smart Label Printer. In addition to printing labels for envelopes and file folders, I put the labels on equipment and supplies, books, my lunch, file drawers, CDs. You can save addresses and pull them up to print one or many at a time. It's a timesaver and a great organizational tool.

I would be lost without Outlook calendar reminders.

Post-it notes and post-it tabs!

I've put all my frequently-called phone numbers on speed dial -- it's been a real time saver!

I love my dual monitor set up at work and can't imagine life (work) without it. I've increased my work productivity by at least 20%.

For those who are wondering what a 'dual monitor' set up is...

A dual monitor setup is having two monitors connected to your computer. I've used this setup for almost two years now and love it.

You can work one document on monitor #1 (left) and have another application (Outlook, Excel, etc) open on the second monitor #2 (right).
All you need is a video card (a basic video card with dual VGA out is around $50) and an extra 17" CRT monitor (your IT staff should have these in stock).

The best solution is two flat panel monitors (I have two flat panel monitors) because have two 17" CRT monitors on your desk, kinda kills all your workspace.

Believe it or not, my favorite tool is these miniature notebooks that Ultimate Office came out with - they're called Jotz mini-notebooks and they're about 3 by 5 inches - I can grab one whenever I go to someone office (I can never tell if I'll need to make a note for reference). The pages pull out and actually fit into my compact-sized personal organizer or in the regular sized Jotz notebooks so I can quickly add it to my To-Do List without having to re-write. Best of all, these little notebooks have a color-coded marker so I can match up notes to divisions or bosses, etc. It is an awesome organizer tool!

Using my Outlook calendar as my task list has helped keep me on target for deadlines as well as helped my boss know what my typical day is like.
