Question: I am the HR manager for a company that had 35 employees. Recently, our company merged with a sister company, and now we have 85 employees. We feel it’s time to get some HR software, but we don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on it. Can anyone recommend a good, economical software package that tracks attendance, PTO, raises, benefits, appraisals, discipline measures, etc?  -- Ann


We currently utilize Ceridian it has been a great resource for both our HR department and our Finance Department. You can review what they offer by visiting their website

My company just migrated to ORACLE

My computer just recently switched to ADP. With Payroll and HR Expert and a great time management feature! Hope this helps!

We implemented HRSource last September. It is a remarkably inexpensive, extremely full featured product that can interface with just about any payroll software - internal or external. It also has nice features we can add later if we choose like an employee web based interface to post HR related info like policy manuals, forms, etc. The basic HRIS module is only $995. We added in the PR interface to reduce double entry and errors for an additional $395 -- still miles less than the cost of most HRIS packages. Especially with the small size of your organization, I would highly recommend at least checking this software out. We have been really pleased. Oh, and they will even allow you a 30 day free trial of the actual software! They have a web site if you're interested in more information: I really feel you'd be doing yourself an injustice if you don't at least look at the web site. I first heard about it by doing a search on the SHRM web site -- they had highly recommended it in an article which led me to review it. Good luck!!!

You can streamline and simplify the entire process with online software solutions that offer time and attendance, payroll processing, and HR all in one system. For example, add a new employee once and they are automatically visible in each solution. You can go even further to improve the process with accounting integration and employee self service.
This is a good opportunity to analyze how your company can save money, improve efficiency and provide convenient service to employees – all at the same time with little operational change.
