Hear a Free 90-Second Employee Handbooks: Required Changes for 2010-2011 and the 12 Most Common Mistakes Clip from Speaker Anniken Davenport:
If your employee handbook hasn’t been updated in the past six months, it’s out of date.
For example, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) took full effect on Jan. 1 and lawsuits are already being filed. The new health reform law guarantees nursing mothers “reasonable” time and privacy to express milk. Does your handbook say anything about this new law?
Your employee handbook can be an invaluable organizational tool … or an employment lawsuit waiting to happen. Policies and procedures that made sense in 2009 may soon put you in legal jeopardy today.
To help you avoid disaster, nationally recognized author, educator and attorney Anniken Davenport has updated her popular audio recording Employee Handbooks: Required Changes for 2010-2011 and the 12 Most Common Mistakes.
