Are you a role model?

Whom do your co-workers look up to more, you or your boss? According to a recent Randstad survey, employees said that besides their parents, their co-workers were the most influential people in their lives.

When asked, “Who is your most influential role model?” employees said:

Parents                                54%
Co-worker                            31%
Teacher/professor               30%
Spouse                                26%
My boss                               25%
Leader at my company        22%

What do people look for in a workplace role model? Honesty, a positive attitude, trustworthiness, intelligence, confidence and compassion for others, reports the survey.

What about being successful in business? It doesn’t even rank in the top 15.
