If you put "thank you letter donation" into a web search engine, all sorts of sites come up. I hope they help you out. Good luck!

1st paragraph - thank them for what you received.
2nd paragraph - explain what you received and how it has helped you.
3rd paragraph - thank them again for their kind gesture.
I hope this helps.

My favorite is Letitia Baldridge. She has written numerous books and articles on manners, including traditional thank yous.

There are so many reference books and web-sites to help you not only with Thank You letters, but other letters as well. Just "Google" sample letters, or thank you letters.

My favorite book to help with writing letters is "How To Say It" by Rosalie Maggio. It has every scenario imaginable and plenty of samples. It's broken into easy to find categories based on what you want to write about. It not only gives you sample notes, but sample paragraphs, and sentences too. That way you can piece something together that fits your occasion!

As another poster said, I love the book "How to Say It" by Rosalie Maggio. It has sample phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and complete letters for a large variety of situations, both business and personal. I use it all the time!

I pull it up everytime I write a thank you no matter if it's short or long.

The above books are great references, but the most important thing to remember when you are writing a thank you letter is that it's all about THEM. Leave out the "I want to thank you," and "I helped." It's all about them. Write things like, "Your gift is grately appreciated," and "Your support of the students and community is deeply appreciated...etc." Just remember, make them feel good.
