Chuck Smith may be the only temp ever who bought his temp agency.

With a Master’s Degree in hand and few job prospects in 1988, Smith answered a classified ad looking for skilled workers placed by New Office Temps.  On his second temp assignment, he was sent home from the job on his first day because “the old geezers expect a skirt outside their door.”  Twenty years later, Smith is the owner and president of New Office/NewHire, the Chicago-based recruitment process outsourcing firm which developed the NewHire™ Candidate Management Software.

New Office continues to serve the Chicagoland area with temporary staffing.  Nationwide, NewHire provides customized recruiting products and services to businesses of all sizes. 

Chuck Smith is a sought-after speaker and expert on recruiting practices.  He has a bachelor’s degree in American Literature & Religion from The George Washington University and a master’s degree in Religion and Literature from the University of Chicago.  He and his wife have lived in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood for over 20 years where they are both active in the community.  They have a 19 year-old daughter and a 14 year-old son.
