Question: "Our small company has a paid time off benefit for full-time employees. However, we do not have a policy addressing how much unpaid time off a part-time employee can request. We have a couple of employees who are requesting an inordinate amount of time off. Are there industry guidelines on developing a policy?” — Dawn
Question: “We’ve always printed our reports on one side of the paper but are considering switching to printing on both sides to reduce paper usage. However, I’ve never prepared multipage reports for duplex printing. Some  pages still will only have printing on the front side;some pages will have a letterhead. Are the changes done both in the printing process and in the copying process? What part is done in the Word document, what part is done through printing, and what part is done by the copier? How do I get started on this? Is there a web site I can go to?” — Diana Chase

Question: “A good friend was fired recently for sexual harassment. He did pat a woman on her bottom, and she told him she was offended and he apologized. She filed a complaint and the company fired him. Does he need to disclose that he was fired and why he was fired? The company will not disclose the information, it only verifies employment. How does he answer the question, “Why did you leave your last job?” on an application or in an interview?” — Melodie

Question: “Occasionally in Excel, I have a table open but it isn’t visible. I know the table is open because the name bar tells me it is in cell A1, etc., and the formula bar tells me what is in that cell, but the screen is completely gray. You cannot see the table. I can move from cell to cell with my arrow keys, but I cannot see the table or cells on the screen. The only way to view the table is in full screen mode, which doesn’t have the task bars available. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?” — Diana
